STAR ANNA & THE LAUGHING DOGS BIOGRAPHY:
Star Anna & the Laughing Dogs come from Ellensburg WA, where they have been playing together since 2006. They have released two full length CDs (both to critical acclaim), and have been touring regionally for the past two years.
Their music blends brutal honesty with haunting imagery, always brilliantly captured in Star Anna’s powerful, aching vocals. And with the fiery playing of guitarist Justin Davis, drummer Travis Yost, bassist Keith Ash, and organ/piano player Ty Bailie, this is one of the rare singer-songwriter fronted groups that do not compromise the music for the lyrics. Instead, the band lays down an instrumental foundation for Star Anna, perfectly mirroring her intensity and integrity. Like another voice, the band joins the conversation. A soaring guitar solo carries a plaintive line to a different level. A steady rhythm section anchors the anguish of heartbreak.
