GRAHAM LINDSEY BIOGRAPHY:

“Well-traveled folk that’s both hick and haunting. There’s something strange in the water and Lindsey’s drunk it up,” writes Rollingstone.com of Americana folk-rock artist Graham Lindsey. Known for his dark razor sharp lyrics, or what the Chicago Sun Times has called his “roadmap of the human condition,” Lindsey’s music is “raw, primal, and off the beaten path. It is dark and unapologetic roots folk-blues that falls somewhere in the middle of Gillian Welch, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits… and does so without any hyperbole,” says CanYouSeeTheSunset.blog. “Graham Lindsey and his uncompromising backwoods Americana is the real deal.” At age 12, The Onion explains, Lindsey “was a member of the world’s youngest punk band, Old Skull. His solo material couldn’t be further from those days, though: He now plays dark Americana informed by his travels around the country.” Since 2003, Lindsey has released three full-length albums and an ep each earning him widespread critical acclaim in the U.S. and overseas “solidifying his place as a premier songwriter in the tradition of folk legends Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly,” says Miles of Music, while retaining the punk-rock ethos that has become Graham Lindsey’s calling card.

Hick folk heaven from Montana: Several years before Bon Iver holed up in the Wisconsin wilds, Graham Lindsey was there in his log cabin, spading out scarifying songs like a latterday Hasil Adkins. The music is by turns desolate, angry and a…ching. -UNCUT

The Wisconsin native’s minimalist soul searching tries to reconcile his best intentions with an unforgiving world. Thankfully love and acceptance still feature big; if they didn’t he’d surely be dead by now. -Q MAGAZINE

A fine, uncompromising singer-writer… -MOJO

Angry, literate singer-songwriter, who lives in the Wisconsin woods… -CHICAGO SUN TIMES

Excellent …dark Americana, informed by his travels around the country. -THE ONION
